Our Story...

Valentino learned the art of Italian cuisine while working in the family business in Dallas, Texas, under the direction of Mario and Dino Smajli at Luigi’s Cafe. He also learned the traditions of from-scratch pizza-making from brothers Benito and Dino of the renowned Lover’s Pizza, also in Dallas.In 1995, Valentino met James Cole and they began a friendship that would later evolve into a business partnership.

In 2003, Valentino and James opened the first Valentino’s Italian Cafe in Fredericksburg, Texas. Their business combined Valentino’s talent in the kitchen with James’ financial backing and business leadership. Their business grew rapidly and a new location was opened in Kerrville in 2004. Our newest location in located in Boerne, Texas, at 1361 South Main Street.
